About the club
In a quiet corner of the city, far away from it’s hustle and bustle, the Mangalore
Club sits on the banks of the river Nethravathi. Over a hundred years old, the club
has always had a lazy charm associated with it. As with most such institutions in
this country, it was a British club- their names adorn the board showing the list
of past Secretaries of the club. Over the past few years, the club has expanded
rapidly, marrying it’s genteel, old world refinement to modern steel and chrome.
The bar and dining room have been refurnished and air conditioned. An indoor shuttle
court keeps the sporting crowd occupied…for the less physically inclined, the billiards
room, card room and well stocked library keep them happy. A terrace swimming pool
allows one the luxury of a dip overlooking the calm, serene river waters. Eight
splendid air conditioned guest rooms are available. The fully equipped kitchen is
capable of catering to parties of over 500. The club also has a list of affiliations
to other prestigious clubs across the country and the members can avail of these
facilities. The club is now poised for further growth. It now has over 300 members.
It is in the process of installing a state of the art gymnasium. A family room with
a large screen television and indoor games is also slated for completion this year.
